The Town Clerk’s office keeps its finger on the pulse of the community as the keeper of all vital records pertaining to your daily life. The department accurately maintains of all Town Board meeting minutes and prepares agendas for those meetings, as well. In addition, the Town Clerk maintains all records of adopted Town ordinances, local laws, budgets, petitions and employee appointments and resignations.

These are just some of the ways the Town Clerk can assist you: The Town Clerk is where you would go to file a request for the Freedom of Information Law. You would also go to the Town Clerk to apply for parking, marriage, dog  or hunting licenses or permits. including those Town Clerk Department members coordinate Primary and General election activities within the Town.

How do I obtain a parking permit and when do they expire?

Forms and instructions for obtaining parking permits are available from the Town Clerk’s office and by clicking icon here (15.87 kB) for both Restricted and Metered Parking Permits. Restricted and Metered parking permits expire on June 14 each year. It’s easy to renew -- just fill in the application, make sure to include photocopies of all current car registrations you want included on the permit (up to four cars per permit), and the driver’s license of the person applying for the permit, and mail it in with a check covering the fee by May 15.  Completed parking permit applications submitted on or before May 15 will be available for pickup the week of June 1.

What is the difference between Restricted and Metered Parking Permits?

Restricted Permits allow you to park at any time in the Chappaqua Commuter lot. The Metered permits are allowed only in designated meter spaces.

Can non-residents obtain a Parking Permit?

Yes. Residents living in areas abutting the Town are eligible to apply at the beginning of the permit year through a lottery system, which distributes a limited number of non-resident permits. icon Non-Resident Parking Permit Applications (19.22 kB) must be submitted by May 5, 2009.

I  work in Town and want to park all day. Is a permit needed?

How do I obtain a marriage license?

You must apply in person for a marriage license and bring original required documentation. Click here required documentation and fees.

How do I obtain a Handicap Parking Permit?

Handicap Parking Permits may be issued for temporary or permanent use by the Town of New Castle by submitting an application to the Town Clerk's office, with a copy of the driver's license of the person applying.
