The Receiver of Taxes is responsible for collection of county, town and school taxes - Prints and sends tax bills, records payments, prepares deposits, sends tax receipts and delinquent notices, and prepares lists of delinquent taxes and In Rem lists.  Calculates small claim and certiorari  refunds caused by assessment reductions, and prepares necessary paperwork for the Town, County and school districts.

Note: new property owners are requested to notify tax department

Taxes are due whether or not property owner receives notification

Town and county taxes are due on April 30th

School taxes are due in two halves on September 30th and January 31st

Responsible for programs for preserving and expanding appreciation of the community's history
Chairs the Landmark Advisory Committee
