The Glazier Arboretum was preserved through the efforts of Henry Glazier for
the benefit of the citizens of the Town of New Castle. Currently it is managed by the
New Castle Conservation
Board and offers trails through open fields and forest and scenic views. The property is managed by the
Conservation Board to demonstrate ways that homeowners can improve their properties for
living
alongside our local wildlife. Projects include a deer resistant garden, selected shrub plantings,
and bird boxes. This area and Whippoorwill Park are
the best town
lands for wildlife observation including birding.
