Camp Adventure is a popular summer day camp offered for children who will be entering
grades 1 to 5 in the fall. The camp is held Monday through Friday from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. Camp dates for Summer
2006 are June 26 to August 4. Camp fees for 2006 are $700 for the six week session or
$375 for one three
week session. Registration may close before May 15, 2006. Registrations
after May 15 will be placed in groups with space available.
Camp Adventure maintains a strict 10:1 ratio of staff to campers with maximum of
8:1 for
younger campers on site and 6:1 ratio for all campers while traveling. Trips include
Playland Amusement Park, Bowling (Cortlandt Lanes), Sportime USA, and Brewster
Sportsdome. Transportation to and from the camp is available along
existing Chappaqua School District bus routes for an additional fee.

Monday, March 13, 2006.

Tot's Camp is a half-day summer day camp for youngsters between the ages of 3 and 5
years old who have not year attended kindergarten. Tot's camp is held Monday through Friday from 9:30 a.m.
to 12:30 p.m. Dates for the 2006 season are June 26 through August 4. Camp fees for
2006
are $600 for the six week session or $325 for one three week session. Tot's Camp maintains
a strict 6:1 ratio of campers to staff at all times on site. Program offerings include:
arts and crafts, nature detective, sports, water play, music, New Castle Police and
Millwood Fire Department. Transportation to and from the camp is available along existing
Chappaqua School District bus routes for an additional fee.
Enrollment is limited and the 2006 registration for Tots Camp begins Monday,
March 13, 2006.

Summer At The Art Center is offered at the New Castle Arts Center
as a five week program Monday through Friday, 9:30 a.m. to 1:30 p.m. for children ages 4,
5 and 6 with a special interest in the arts. The 2006 fee is $675 and enrollment was
limited on a first-come, first-served basis. The program is focused around a theme
explored through storytelling, games and multimedia arts projects. Participants bring
lunch. Camp dates in 2006 are June 26 to July 28.

Enrollment is limited and the 2006 registration for Summer at the Art Center
begins Monday, February 13, 2006 .
This specialized five day a week program for boys and girls entering 6th and 7th grade
is based at Camp Adventure. Campers go on day trips such as:
Sportime USA, FunStation, Brewster Sportsdome, Long Island Sound fishing,
New Roc City, Playland, Splashdown, Mets and Yankees games four days a week and receive Red
Cross Certification training and work on a community
service project on the other day in the week. This program prepares campers for the Counselor-in-Training Program. Contact the Recreation
and Parks Office for more information. Fee: $550.
The Trip & Train for 6th and 7th Graders is usually full by the end of March.
Enrollment is limited to 60 participants and registration begins Monday,
March 13, 2006.
This program for 8th, 9th and 10th graders is limited to 30 participants who are
serious about assuming responsibility for and working with children in a camp setting.
A C.I.T. trip to New Roc City The Cliffs is planned for each session.
C.I.T.
applications are accepted for the 2006 camp season from February 6 to February
28th. The applicant must call the Recreation Office after March 6th and
before March 10th to make an appointment for an interview. Applicants
are required to be interviewed by Recreation Department staff with notification of
acceptance by mid-April. Interview dates are Saturday, March 11th and
March 18th.
