Beautification Advisory Board

Conservation Board

Studies and advises the Town Board and other Town departments, boards and commissions on developing sound open space planning and assuring preservation of natural and scenic resources within the Town of New Castle.

Drug Abuse Prevention Council

Develops information and programs for the community information on the control of narcotics and drug use and assistance or referral options, especially for young people, for coping with drug-related problems.

Board Size and Terms: Fourteen members with three year terms
 

Landmark Advisory Committee

Established in 1990 for the purpose of making recommendations on buildings and sites of historical note so that their historical significance will be taken into account with respect to applications before the Board of Architectural Review, Planning Board and Zoning Board of Appeals.

Millwood Task Force

Advises the Town Board, Planning Board and other town boards and commissions on projects and issues of importance to the western end of Town and to the hamlet of Millwood.

Board Size and Terms: Ten members for three year terms
 

Solid Waste Advisory Board

Supervises the administration of the Recycling, Composting and Refuse Collection Law and makes recommendations about license applications from prospective carters.  It also supervises and reviews collection procedures.

Housing Advisory Committee

Seeks innovations in planning that will encourage the development of reasonably-priced housing in the Town and acts as an advocate for new housing proposals.
