INSTRUCTIONS FOR OBTAINING A MARRIAGE LICENSE
A marriage license must be obtained a minimum of 24 hours before the ceremony, and once issued. is valid for 60 days. If a previous marriage ended in divorce, certified divorce papers must be presented. If you have any question about your divorce papers. please call or send them in before your visit to the Town Clerk's Office. (914) 238-4772.
Complete the Marriage License Application and either send it to the Town Clerk's office ahead of your visit so your license will be ready when you arrive, or bring it in with you. To view and print the Marriage License Application you will need the Adobe Acrobat Reader Plug-in with your browser.
Both parties must appear to take the oath and sign the license. You will be required to provide photo identification, such as a driver's license or passport, your birth certificate, and your Social Security Number.
Marriage licenses are issued Monday through Friday from 9:00am until 4:00pm. (Fridays during July and August. 9:00am to 3:00pm).

The Social Security Administration advises marriage applicants who plan on assuming a new surname after marriage to contact their local Social Security office so their records and card reflect the change.
The card holder must file a change notice (Form SS-5) with the local Social Security office. Social Security Administration, 55 Church St., White Plains. NY 1-800-772-1213. Along with the form, you will need your Certificate of Marriage and your old Social Security Card.INFORMATIONRUBELLA
Rubella is a common childhood disease which is not serious to children who contract it. but can be a grave threat to unborn babies if transmitted to pregnant women, especially during the first four months. It can lead to various physical defects or possible miscarriage or stillbirth.
Immunization to Rubella is achieved by having the vaccination or by having already had the disease. You can get a blood test from your doctor to determine whether or not you are immune. Please contact your family doctor, health care provider, public health facility or clinic for further information.
