This area offers a quiet pond, a walking bridge and sitting area, along with
a capsule to commemorate our country's Bicentennial Celebration in 1976.
The park was created in 1975 from the dredged material from the Duck Pond
and named after our national 200th birthday. In the aftermath of Hurricane
Floyd during the fall of 1999, the bridge and dam were rebuilt and the pond dredged.
